Gregory Skipper Center of Professional Recovery
Greg Skipper, M.D. is a graduate of Stanford University School of Medicine and completed his Residency at UCR San Diego.  For more than 30 years Dr. Skipper has worked in professional health, impairment, and occupational and addiction medicine.  He is certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the American Board of Addiction Medicine, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also an educator, author and a sought-after speaker who has been interviewed by leading national television and radio shows.
 
Prior to joining Promises, Dr. Skipper worked as medical director at Springbrook Hazelden, an evaluation and treatment program for professionals, and for Alabama's physician health program. He also served in the role of advisor to the Betty Ford Center's Licensed Professionals Program and Oregon's physician health program.
 
Dr. Skipper is a member of the National Advisory Council for the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (appointed by the secretary of Health and Human Services) and a consultant to the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research and Drug Abuse Advisory Committee. He earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the University of California, San Diego.
 
Dr. Skipper believes that early detection, comprehensive treatment and long-term monitoring are keys to improved outcomes in mental health and substance abuse treatment. In addition to enhancing the lives of his patients, Dr. Skipper and his wife have raised three wonderful children.
