California law requires employers with 5 or more employees to provide training on the prevention of sexual harassment and abusive conduct:

  • Employees - 1 hour of training
  • Supervisors - 2 hours of training

Training must be completed within 6 months of hire or promotion and every 2 years thereafter.

 

In partnership with Thakur Law Firm, APC, RCMA is offering this important training designed specifically for physician practices.

 

Participants will:

  • Gain practical tools to recognize, prevent, & address harassment & abusive conduct
  • Learn how to foster a respectful, professional workplace
  • Receive a certificate of completion to meet legal requirements

Pamela Tahim Thakur is the Managing Attorney of Thakur Law Firm, APC. Thakur Law Firm has worked collaboratively with Riverside County Medical Association San Bernardino County Medical Society for the last several years providing legal services to its members as a premier business partner. Pamela's employment litigation experience includes defending against class action lawsuits and individual claims for wage and hour violations, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and trade secret misappropriation. Most recently, last month, Pamela and her team secured a judgment of $2.5 million in favor of their client in a business litigation dispute involving the sale of a medical device business. From 2017-2019, she was selected by her peers as a "Rising Star" for Super Lawyers and a Super Lawyer from 2020 to 2023. In addition to her litigation work, Pamela advises businesses and corporate clients on a whole array of employment issues, including preparing and updating employment policies, drafting employee handbooks in compliance with the latest changes in state and federal employment laws, as well as assisting in disciplining and terminating employees and complying with leave and disability rules.

Pamela also provides seminars for employers on best practices compliance and to assure compliance with California's mandatory supervisor / employee harassment training requirements. Pamela qualifies as a trainer under Senate Bill 1343 to provide harassment training to supervisory and non-supervisory employees in California.
